The idle adjustment screw on the car I'm currently working on mics up at
¼? Whitworth?
It's a long time since I've had my whit/bsf spanners out. I have BA in my 1/4 drive set and they are useful from time to time.
Bizarrely, a 1/4 whit is still often used, mainly on battery connections.
Thanks, guys. I'll have a word with a mate of mine who has a full set of WW spanners and try the 1/4" (and anything else he might have seeing as he's been into old British cars for 60 years!)
0.525" is the AF of a 1/4 Whit spanner.
I'm intrigued. Most Daimlers used SU carbs? But most idle adjustments on carbs use a plain 'ol screwdriver.
It seems bloody odd to me too, Dave! Looks original as well. :-/
