Looking around, I can't find a statement that tells me when the 4 year warranty began. Did the 2002 Miata have a 3 year or 4 year warranty? Thanks for the help.

Yeah, I think we were getting a 5 year unlimited kilometre warranty in 2002, even on the MX-5 SP (turbo). Sorry, doesn't help the OP much.
