Not so. One of the physicians I work with had the stock wheels (I think they're 14 or 15 inches) from his Neon stolen - in the hospital parking garage, of all places!

Fear not for all of the things you will need to remove the wheel lock can be bought for less than $30 at the local parts store. You will need a 13/16 12 point deepwell socket. (12 point spark plug socket) a 3 pound shop hammer and a break over bar. Hammer the socket all the way on to the lock, then using the break over bar, attach it to the socket and remove the stubborn locking lug.

This may be what I have to do. I left out the part about not being able to drive the car anywhere to get something done to it as there are no brake pads installed on one of the rear wheels (long story).

You might be able to make a rubbing of the face of one of the wheel locks and have the local dealership match the rubbing against their 12 keys -- assuming they also have additional keys to sell.

What stops a thief from doing the same thing? I'd think the dealer would want to see you and the car to make sure you were trying to take the wheels of off your car. Although, any thief smart enough to figure that out would probably just carry a full set of 12 keys and have at it.

Don't know for sure if this will work or not, but maybe it would be worth getting the "Gator Grip" from Sears or Home Depot and seeing if that would work.
