Without a doubt there is and there's almost certainly a wire in behind your existing radio you can use. Pop into your local car audio expert (don't know where you are but somewhere like Ray Smith Car Audio in Edinburgh) who will be able to tell you which wire.

Some Nav systems also have a connection to your reversing lights. The one I've got (SONY) expects this to be connected but doesn't bother in the slightest if you don't.

I'm afraid, the signal doesn't exist behind the radio. MGF MK2 and MGTF have a speed signal sensor at the gear box. The signal can be picked up there or at the upper multi-connector on the fuse panel. See for the Pink-Blue wire at the multi-connector, or the white-orange wire direct at the sensor.

Good luck and Merry Xmas

Thanks a lot for you're informations. I didn't told you that I own a stepspeed, so does my gearbox have a speed signal (tacho) sensor also??

Marry X-mas to you all.

I think so. Only the MEMS ECU is different from manual gearbox cars. The mentioned speed transducer is connected with white-orange wire to the EPAS ECU. Out there gets the signal with pink-blue wire to the instrument pack connector. I've heard of both successful applications.
