At this cost, a new bodyshell is probably cheaper and certainly better. One point about the Jaguar, if you pay for the fuel you won't be able to afford to restore the MG. Preference between the MG and Jaguar is personal. MG heaters don't work in the winter and aircon doesn't work in the summer. If you want an efficient mile eater, buy a modern car. If you want a classic, go for the MG.
