Four more weeks and my MCS should be here and I hope to be an active member of the group. A little about me. For you Brits, I'm a Yank and my home is in southern Illinois. About 20 miles from St. Louis Missouri. I'm 60 years old, retired from the United States Marine Corps in 1982 (and have a special place in my heart for the Royal Marines) and have been working in Professional Security for the last 21 years. In 1966 I purchased a new Austin Cooper S from the Emil Frey dealership in Bern Switzerland and had it shipped back to the states. I drove it on a daily basis for the next 17 years......and sold it in 1983. Why?? Because it required 3 hour of maintenance for every six hour of driving and parts were becoming vary scarce here in the US. BUT!! I have been reborn. I will soon be driving a Cooper S again. What does my wife of 32 years have to say about it............"there's no fool like an old fool".

Hello there,

Nice tale, how long have you been waiting for the MINI already, and what spec/model are you getting?

If you get time, please take a look over at

(my website) and

which is the biggest MINI forum just now. This group seems to spring to life then all die off again, with no real pattern!
