Hi all, well found out about the ptc heater not being absolutly necessary for running (see last post) but now after boxing engine back up started her up and she purred! but then started getting quite a bit of smoke from around the inlet /exhaust manifolds but its tight so what gives?any ideas of causes and fixes?

have you left it running for a while as normally after a rocker cover has been off etc. you tend to get a lot of oil onto the manifold which takes a little time to burn off!
I agree with miniman, sounds like the "oily hand prints" burning off the exhaust Fitzy
