1) Seat/door panel repair 2} Trim replacement

Need some advice.

1) My girlfriend has a 2003 Galant. I messed it up and I want to fix it.

I smoke and she doesn't. I was driving her car and bumped a cigarette against the fabric (velour) door panel and the hot end of the smoke fell onto the seat, causing damage to both.

Is there a way of reparing this damage, short of totally replacing it all? It does not have to look brand new, but I really feel bad and I can affort $2-300 to make it look better. Any ideas?

There are no "holes", but the fabric is scared to the base fabric.

2) Same car - different problem.

Last fall, the car recieved a windshield blow from a rock on the heighway and was quickly fixed by a company recommended by AIG insurance. Six months later, the windshield/sidetrim/rear windshield trim just "blew off" on the heighway. The glass company no longer exists and the insurance guys say the claim is settled, so my friend has to replace the trim. The body shop says it will cost about $600 to replace this piece of plastic that I figure is worth about $35 bucks. It is held on by snap-in clips, for goodness sakes. . .where can I buy one for a reasonable price?

Thanks! jb Peace to all,

BF

Look in the yellow pages for motor timmmers / upolsterers. It may be possible to replace just a panel if a similar fabric can be located. The other option is to contact wreckers and get replacement seats.

Check with the dealer for the real price. Check with a glass shop if there is an after market piece available.
