Does anyone know why i can rarely get my year 2000 mitsubishi spacestar to engage 5th gear, it always goes back to 3rd no matter how hard i push the lever but sometimes it slips in without a problem. CHEERS FOR ANY HELP.
You will likely have a problem with the adjustment on the shift rod . Its a relatively easy repair to carry out if you know what you are doing. You also need to check the plastic bushes on the rod at the front and rear as these wear out very easily. Your local Mitsubishi dealership should have them in stock.
