windshield wiper fuse for eagle summit

My daughter says the wipers don't work on 93 eagle summit. My first thought was to check the fuse. Well, the fuses are the little plastic kind and I can't tell which is the correct fuse because the fuse box cover is gone, which I suspect has the fuse placement diagram.

Any Idea where I can get a fuse diagram for the summit, on line? Or find out which is the correct fuse for the wipers? Any help on this is appreciated, thanks.

I assume you mean the fuses under the dash. Pull them out one at a time with long nose pliers and see if they are blown. There's also the large fuse/relay box next to the battery.

There are other issues:

  1. can you hear the wiper motor running, but the wipers don't move? If so, the wiper arm linkages have come apart. These are accessed by removing the wiper arms, then the plastic panel accross the bottom of the windshield. Its a common problem.

If a fuse is blown ...

  1. The wiper arm pivot shafts tend to rust up and jam on older cars. Remove the parts above, and pop the linkages off. The wiper arms should move freely. If not, you have to take the pivot assembly out, dissassemble, clean and lubricate. The pivot assembly housing is ABS, and the M6 bolts are molded in. The nuts are often rusted too. I've had to cut a slot in the bolt with a Dremel tool to use a screwdriver and ring spanner to get the nuts off.

A Mitsubishi Expo service manual has that info.
