Well really, the engine is at the back....so in theory, it shouldn't be TOO hard to fix assuming the whole frame isn't bent?

Sheesh, if they'd caved in the side, the roof or the boot I could understand it, but, by the look of it, they've just driven straight into the back of someone. They must be sooooo embarrassed.

Two better words "Hairy String", in combination with plastic tiestraps, double sided sticky tape, masking tape, self tappers, wood screws, and araldite.

Who needs carbon fibre when you can have a composite of the above..

My experience of carbon fibre is that it is either structurally sound or broken into lots of sharp pieces. Anything that is made of carbon fibre is usually made as light as possible to do the job in hand and when it does a job its not designed to do (i.e. abuse) it breaks into lots of little pieces.

Cut the front off it and into the front room with what's left - sit in the seats listening to the engine? ;-)

I nearly had a Ferrari go into the back of me on the motorway last year. The driver looked like Chris Rea...

Hmmm. Says the insurance company paid out $1.3m - in which case, it's quite obviously not repairable !

True enough. Mind you, that engine (and other bits) would fit into a kit car, no questions asked. An interesting sort of donor, at the very worst.

But I don't think I'll bid quarter of a million dollars, even so. ;)

What about a Ferrari engined Ultima?

May not worth $250k, but what a car it would be?

It's the wrong shape*, though, the suspension, cockpit, engine, maybe the steering but by the look of it that's bent around a stout tree. Clearly you'd be needing a shell.

So, what shell would be about the right shape, eh? How about a fibreglass Enzo kit car? It would be somewhat unique. ;)

(* - on so many levels, but which is ugliest?)

Thats why I said build an Ultima. Normally built with a mid mounted US V8, built it with a Ferrari V12 instead, and watch other owners faces at club track days and race meetings.
