Small cruisers are the most stupid and pointless bikes ever made.

You'll struggle to hit an indicated 70mph on most of them, and if you do get confident in the twisties, everything will ground out, ultimately levering the rear wheel off the tarmac.

Sell the car, buy a cheap runaround, book a 5-day 'direct access' course and buy a proper bike - like the Ducati Monsters we pointed out a couple of weeks back - or a Suzuki Bandit / Honda Hornet / Yamaha Fazer.

Cruisers are for upside-downy head, wannabe Hells Angels.

I'm 26, I've got a house, a fiancee and a boring job, but I drive a I can still afford to run an SD1 V8 and a French hot hatch, and I'm currently contemplating getting a new project - getting older (not necessarily growing up) is not all bad! :)

Mate of mine always wanted a new bike, always loved cruisers. After years of just getting by with old Kwak GT750s, his ship came in last year.

He bought a brand new VN1600.

He told everyone it was mega for a while. Then very recently he admitted it wasn't. He now has a Z750S which he loves.

I believe some of them have arm rests, speakers and a place for the AMP.

You'd be better doing it the other way round - get a fun, cheap weekend car, and a bike for the commute. Cruisers are s*it. You'd even be better off on a big trailie than a cruiser. I suspect you're a car driver at heart - if you were a biker deep down you'd have had a 50 at 16 and a 125 at 17. Get a heap of s*it CG or something to commute to work, get your 100mpg - then get a mental fun car, or american heap of s*it that you like for the weekend - spend time making it awesome and going to meets and stuff :)

Vamp is really, really obviously a car guy rather than a bike guy. He'll never enjoy riding a bike as much as having a good thrash in a car.

To be fair, though, 125cc bikes suck donkey c*ck after a couple of weeks.

He needs a proper, full, bike license so that he can at least ride something that could pull the skin off a rice pudding.

probably true, but these days having a nice fast car costs s*it loads and I want to pay some debts off too. I'm gonna get a boring diesel something and do my bike test before they change the test. not sure what I'll be like on a bike but I defo wanna do the direct access so I have a choice of a big bike. I'd really like a cruiser though, maybe I spent to long on Florida?

Not being funny, but the BMW is worth sod all. You'll struggle to buy a car, buy a bike *and* pay off debts with what you get for it, ffs.

Yea I have a hornet, it was my first big bike, it's fast (for a first timer) but not mind bending.
