Oh bugger. Shame it isn't the ex Dave Caruthers car. That thing was rapid.

About 130BHP on twin 40's and a one off exhaust of the factroy manifold.

Mind you, he did have a bit of stuff done inside the engine too. :)

I have a feeling it isn't his ex car because he had a white cage and welded instrut brace at the back.

Also sent him a link for a Hillman Imp with a 1.4 K series motor in it, i'm hoping he'll have a look at that too. But knowing him he wont get off his arse for either of them!

I'm not familar with Skodas at all, so any idea what sort of power that Favorit would be pushing out? Around 100bhp?

if it is standard except for the Weber/filter and exhaust, maybe arround

  1. If he has had any porting/big valves etc to go with the raised compression, easily 100. Hopefully, he has had the crank and rods balanced, and the flywheel lightened, you can then make them rev out to

7or8k without grief.

BTW, the HP sporting shocks he has on that car are about £350 from Butts of Bawtry, HP are the CZ equivalant of Spax/AVO

Probably the Sporting Special struts. Really do tighten the car up no end. Damping is fixed, but hight is adjustable using spring compressors, then moving a circlip and lower platform.

Best thing you can do with a Favorit is strip out all the sound proofing first. The do the tuning.

This is what you need if you want about 135bhp from a 1.3 Skoda engine.

BTW, depending on what he has there, those 13" alloys are either standard factory wheels painted (or as I suspect) the Skoda traphy one make challenge magnesiums.

there was a bloke in the lakes who had bought a job lot for a trials car he was building. gave up in the end, and sold a strengthened shell, and all the wheels fairly cheaply.

Looks like this guy may have bought all the wheels.
