I think I've found the van for me :-)

Isn't Bling the new thing?

And of course, shipping incoming (minor)celebrities arround too, when they arrive in the UK.

Pete M would know, he does a little limo driving. It's footballers wives country uphere.

So to get the real money, you might need to work away from the centre of London, but I bet it could work nicely.

just need to work out, how much fuel a night would use, and how much booze you reckon they would go through, and how much a bouncer (don't want them getting lairy), a DJ, and if required a "dancer" would cost, and you are sorted to work out if it would be profitable.

Hope you get a big residents parking bay though.

Top Tip:

Firefox has Tools / Extensions / "Get More Extensions" / and then list them all and download the one called IEVIEW. Now, when a webpage doesn't load properly, you can right click it, "load in IE" and close IE again when you're done.

There are also dozens upon dozens of other amazingly useful extensions you can add to make life easier, without them you are missing the whole concept.

Do a deal with a local lap dancing club for some cheaper rate. They'll have a guaranteed earner and some free extra promotion, and you get a cheaper deal. Same again with a bouncer; do a deal with a local doorman company to exclusively use their staff and you might get a deal. A DJ would be easy; just hire some local wannabe cheap. It's hardly going to be Ministry of Sound or whatever in a bus...

In news: snipped-for-privacy@news.individual.net, MeatballTurbo decided to enlighten our sheltered souls with a rant as follows

Plenty of demand, plenty of competition... I used to charge as follows;

Lincoln Towncar (ultra stretched) £85 per hour during week, £95 Fri, £110 sat Ford Excursion 4x4 (120" stretch) £95 per hour during week, £110 Fr, £125 Sat

Yup, and it attracts pure shitheads. You don't want to deal with these people. They're scum.

Even minor celebrities don't want to be seen in a limo. You're more likely to get celebs in a Range Rover with blacked out windows.

Indeed, and there's very few jobs where the money is. Normally kids birthdays and weddings. Stag nights use them, but are to be avoided like the plague.

It could, but it's not easy, to take 24 people you need an operators licence and PSV drivers. This means you end up with bus drivers. Bus drivers, as a rule, have all the driving ability of a slightly stoned giraffe on a goped.

You could easily make money, lots of money, but you'd need a lot of reserve money for when things go wrong - they go wrong on a nightly basis - a team of dedicated and trustworthy drivers, a huge budget for insurance, public liability insurance, an off licence type licence (yup, limos have to be licenced for the consumption of alcohol), and most councils will not let you carry more than eight people in one. With a PSV you're allowed 14, but the council have a very nasty habit of sending out inspectors who's first port of call is to check tyre ratings for speed and weight. This is why there are a lot of 200" stretch Hummers about for sale, you can't get tyres that pass UK PSV regs for 'em.

Heh, you'll be sent down a million back streets in 'em an all. Trust me on this, 32 foot is the maximum length limo you want, any bigger and you're not going anywhere.
