yup. pulsar by name only. (and injun :o) )
">> Looking at around 4 grand. Looks/size/mpg not important, speed/bhp the main
PFFFFT. or wait a few years and they will be RS turbo money. Not worth buying at the minute IMO. unless you can afford a decent JAP one or a brand spanker.
agree. i'd have one, cheap to insure too.
Nope - girls car
Possibly. if you can find a nice one. Expensive to fix.
I plan on having an impreza...either
in 2-3 years time when they WILL sell for RTS money or when I can afford a brand new one :o)
They *are* the new series 2 escort turbo.
306 GTI-6 are excellent cars. but somehow not what i think he's looking for.
same with the 106 Gti.
2.8 in something that size = waste of time.
New turbo on a 500 mile car sounds like they took the aircleaner off and threw in a handfull of ball bearings. I replaced a turbo on my old Nissan Exa because the turbine wheel busted off the shaft (it was like that when I bought it) but in over 10 years of owning turbo cars I have never had a turbo problem.
Fraser
He said "If it were you and you were looking for the above what would YOU buy?"
So my answers were perfectly valid :) And as a drivers car, the 106 GTi is awesome. Clarkson saying it would've won the most fun car, but they couldn't allow it to beat the Ferrari :)
You're wrong and you're a grotesquely ugly freak.
i'm wrong and ugly?
OK i challenge you to go out there and fetch me proof....
just to keep you going heres a bit of a "f*ck off"
Saxo VTS 1999 T driveshaft part number - 654735490
106 GTi 1999 T Driveshaft partnumber - 654735490spot the difference?
The saxo VTS has got the 106 GTi engine/gearbox in it. It's just people who dont like saxo's but like 106's like to think they havnt.
The only (real) difference between the two are interior, shell and (IIRC) a tiny bit of weight
I'm not a mechanic, so don't have a clue if a driveshaft would affect gear ratios. I don't care what you think either, you're wrong :) Get over it.
Well, yes but it does okay enough. That 2.8 six banger is a great piece of kit. The quoted 0 - 62 is around 10 seconds but it runs on to 140 mph and will return 30 mpg on a run if you stick to the speed limit "plus a reasonable allowance." :)
A director bought a N-reg 728i. Said he could live with the fuel consumption 'cos of the staggering discount to new... Did moan a bit about the service costs though!
That's the 4.4 litre V8 isn't it? The BMW dealership I'm close to reckoned that the difference was less than the official figures would have you believe (728: 25, 740; 22) unless you hammered the 740, but you'd not need to hammer it to be quicker than most other stuff on the road...
I would get something like this just to annoy the tree huggers, heh.
The advertised MPG on my car is fantastic....

I don't get the relevance, either, heh!
To be fair, something like a Scooby isn't a car you can justify on financial grounds.
Have you drive the 20v Turbo? They're mad, utterly mad.
I havn't actually no. bet they are quick. i'd have to wear a bag if I owned one though and that aint safe.
Well it was owned by a Subura dealer and driven by the head mechanic, so i doubt he would have been that stupid! Guess it was just a dud
It's a) an excellent phrase and b) stolen from Brass Eye.
