Would be an interesting race with the Veyron being heavier but with 4wd and the option of more power.

I got as far as the bottom of the first paragraph or so where I read the words "American V8" and my bullshit detector went off. Plenty of people with German names in Merkia too. Having looked at the website of the makers, I'm a bit less skeptical.
Depends what you call a race.
If it's a dragrace then there is no contest. The winner is known: low weight, big torque, no lag. Check how many 4wd dragsters you find.
Any other race makes no sense: that cobra can accelerate like there is no tomorrow or toodle around at semi-idle. It's useless for anything else. I would positively hate it entering a corner at 250 kph but 20 kph too fast.

I know that back in the day, the quoted 0-100mph-0 speed (including the stock brakes) for the most gruntiest of the Cobras was something like 13 seconds. F*ck that is quick.
Thats still just a question of money. "Cleaners" aren't cheap.
