That's not bad at all - £1536 inc VAT; Apple charge £1,699 for the

2.16GHz MBP, though it has 100Mb HD, 256Mb X1600 graphics (dual link DVI

- can run a 30" display (2560 x 1600 pixels) and the internal one with spanning).

Actually, I think I must have mentioned that one before - the price seems familiar; didn't notice it had the 2.17.

Wow, not bad. Only took them 2 decades to catch up.

I bought a mighty mouse as soon as PC world got them in stock. Now if only there was an omni-scroll driver for XP I'd be happy

But it does have cardbus, SVGA, docking port. Ram is about 42 quid for 512 meg (just upped mine to 1 gig) and a bigger screen. And a normal keyboard, and two mouse buttons...

At the time I couldn't have got a powerbook for the money. And wouldn't have wanted one.

Indeed.

There's two machines at the same pricepoint - a 12" tablet based one with the 2.13GHz duo, and the abovementioned, which is notable for having a serial port!

How'd ya figure that?

Richard
