I hate games.

But I'm starting to weaken on this.

Don't need anything like a joystick or steering wheel, do I? Is it keyboard/mouse playable? Not just technically playable, but actually enjoyable?

I'm d/l now - deffo going to check that out. Have you tried it?

When I played it back in the day, I had a steering wheel and pedals. It is technically possible to play with the keyboard IIRC, but it won't be enjoyable. All or no throttle around the Curva Grande just won't work. Mouse isn't an option.

To really enjoy GPL you will need a decent FF wheel and pedals. The favourites amongst hardcore players are Logitech Wingman or MS Sidewinder.

I'm quite a fan of "Insane" by Codemasters. It's getting on a bit now but still has an active mod community and it's bloody good fun on a LAN

sad to say the PC sucks, all it's good for is late now counterstike sessions that last till 6am, well it used to be good for that but i aint played CS for like errr 2 years now! my fave online game ever!

Ta. You've saved me from buying a copy.

Need for Speed Underground 2 GTR TOCA Driv3r, although has guns and stuff too Colin McRae Rally 2005

Not sure about multiplayer on the last two above though.

You can get a wheel for a tenner. Give it a whirl...

World of Warcraft. I'm addicted...

To be honest not recently.

(Top post)

There are lots but Toca Race Driver 2 is a fairly recent one and is ok. It's very inferior because it doesn't save replays for passing on in other formats so there will be lots of better alternatives. But it works.

Apparently >Hi,

Oh yes, indeedy. dated graphics options but dead good fun. Nurburgring is an eye-opener.

Which is a shame because if you really like driving games you'll *love* GPL. It really is unsurpassed in terms of "feel".

I'm sure.

However, I don't have the space or the desire to have a large lump of plastic kicking around to be used a few times only. Like I said originally, I just don't do games normally.

There's an article in a recent CAR magazine lamenting the fact that the latest GT4 simulator models the Nurburgring so perfectly in every respect, apart from the fact that instant death if you get it wrong is not an option. The author suggests that having your wheel wired up to give you a few amps and volts might just teach game players to show the circuit the same respect that Fangio, Moss, Clark, etc. did in its heyday.

Halmyre

I have deliberatly avoided MMORPGs for the very reason that I know I=20 will be addicted instantley and they have a monthly subscription.
