So all I have to do to get insured is to call Norwich Union Direct and say "yeah, it's a hatch-back" ? That will save me a few quid not having to declare the rest. lol.

So have I. Odd kind of ad that.
Like the E-sure Micheal winner add "I'm with E-sure".
When on Points of view they had to say, "Actually he isn't, we don't insure media and performance types".
LMAO
i told Norwich Union for a quote on me MR2 and they quoted over a grand and asked what i thought, i aske to be quoted hap-py coz i wasn't LOL she said 'that's the best we can do' so i said 'bye' and called Churchil 'oh yes' and did i go with churchil? 'oh no no no no no'
:)
with direct line now, don't think they have a pharse?
heh - how freudian....
Quote me seven-grand more like. Yes, I am serious! I have seen a quote for seven-grand :)
LOL reminds me of the Dodge Charger Cavalier on top gear :)
Hell, I'd buy that cav if it had a dukes of hazzard horn!
Hurrah! Douglas
Wow! That is truely amazing - btw what were you thinking of doing with a Saab 9000 at 17?
The highest quote I have seen has been £11k for a 19 year old on a group 9 car (!). (A more reasonable £2k was found by shopping around).
So lets start a new thread - whats the highest insurance quote people have ever been given?

It's a Carlson.
Its quicker than a quick thing on quick pills, and looks so damn respectable.
Only think quicker at the time in the Saab stable was the Viggen, and thats a jet fighter :)
No, it's a Carlsson :)
7.5 seconds to 60 is mediocre these days tho :/
Nephew's mate was 'quote me happy' £1900 for a 1.2 Nova, he was not happy. Liverpoop Vic £1200. Directline £900.
Hastings Direct did me a deal full comp, self only, PNCD that matched DL's basic premium, supposedly saving the £70 DL wanted for PNCD. When it arrived they had left off the protected no claims. Rang them up and protected no claims would have near doubled the premium - over £300 more than DL, some shit about Japanese car. I told them what they could do with the policy and I'm still with DL
NU said they didn't cover mods - a boost gauge! So if you have a Halfords 'Economy gauge' that shows manifold vacuum in green, yellow and red bands and have not declared it to NU your insurance is void! Did any cars in the ads have aftermarket alloy wheels?

Reminds me of Only Fools and Horses where there are big riots going on, and Del drives up in the Capri Ghia, beeps the horn which does a sort of broken chord in the second inversion (sorry to anyone who didn't understand that), and the rioting crowds part, everything goes silent, and he drives through!
Peter
Ahh but look at the 50 - 100 time ;-) Saabs have never been 0-60 cars, more oh was that a AMG we just passed car.
And in other news **-** is quoted as saying:
Brother was quoted 10.5k on the LC, 27, provisional licence, no no claims. Not bad i reckon
tried the same got quoted 4.5k on LC with prov and no NC....... seems reasonable as a %.
compare it to cars of the same era though i still remember the old man driving it about for a while bastid only paid somethng silly like £170 for a years fully comp :(

Ah ha, I realise all that. But £1300. The quote I accepted was £425, a third of the cost, with very similiar cover, not including the silly stuff I couldn't use anyway.
Both quotes were from big name insurers.
And in other news Theo is quoted as saying:
Funnily enough it was more expensive if he said he was married
HOw much you paying for ur insurance on the MR2 mate ?
Why ? You're insuring the OTHER cars that you may hit - not your own ! If you write-off a 20K BMW, then you've *EASILY* got your moneys worth.
