Not sure yet. Around £400 would be nice. That'll be with tax and MoT till Jan plus a few spares and a few new bit that I've put on it. Might put a years MoT on it if that'll entice someone to buy it.

But at least it'll be fun in a straight line with 200bhp or purry V6 :-)

What does it do to the gallon? And where are you located, this would suit him nicely... or me :)

Driving to work (not ideal as its only about 8 miles starting stopping) its does around 20mpg I guess. Get it out on the motorway and it'll get up to around 30mpg. I'm not really one for working it out properly, if it needs petrol i'll put some in it!

I don't know what's funnier. A chap who adores his Italian "classics," which are only classics because they rust _despite_ having rust proofing, or who bases his opinion of all things with a Ford badge because he was not only daft enough to buy one old knackered Ford, but another too...

You'd also have a serious amount of one off sound proofing to get it to purr rather than snarl, even on the motorway.

It's a chopped down Sierra. Most body panels are different to the Escort

Yes but to be fair, it _had_ to be. It slapped ten years of technology onto the Escort that made it "amongst the pack" rather than "behind the curve."

I'd echo my comments above. It doesn't have the same ride and handling balance of, say, the Peugeot 306, Rover 25 / 45, and indeed a bunch of other broadly comparable machines. Things were much better, yes, but it merely made the Escort comparable to some of the competition but nowhere near the top.
