Car registration for sale, is it worth the price?

You'd be absolutely insane to buy that at that price thinking you might make a profit.

All the valuations are bullshit. The market's flooded with personal plates, and there's nothing *that* special about that one.

Although, looking at

does show the cheapest prefix-style BUG plate to be £799, so going by that it's cheap, but it's up to you what you want to pay for it. Forget making a profit, if you want it and you've got £575 spare with nothing better to spend it on, then fine, go for it.

But if I was looking to buy it to take a chance and make a few quid on, I'd not want to be paying more than about £200.

At the end of the day if it was genuinely worth more it'd be priced higher.

Look at eBay completed listings - full of unsold completely s**te so-called personal plates that look f*ck all like what they're making out themselves as. The only vaguely remotely decent one is this:

(that's S200 OUA for the web-challenged, so it vaguely suits a Honda S2000 if the spacing was wrong), and that only went for £132.50. As an aside, when I was doing same-day courier work, I occasionally did a run to the local DVLA office for Honda (their HQ based in Langley, on the edge of Slough), and at one point I had the log book in my hand for the official S2000 demo car, with the plate S2000 UK. Oh yeah. Who wants to touch me?
