that s***ty old MR2 is in better condition than next doors newer P reg escort which had trouble starting 2 days in a row due to the cold
bloody cheek, although it needs a bit of a tidy up :)

The mark one MR2 has a wonderful chassis balance, a superb little 1.6 litre engine, indeed it's perfectly formed for what it is!
It's everything the X1/9 should have been..... shame they didn't solve the rust problems, though.

Funnily enough, the Italians were one of the first to cotton onto the benefits of galvanising - so any rusty Italian car from about 1990 on must have been in a smack. Like the 155 I looked at today - perfect everywhere apart from a _very_ crusty rear 3/4 panel..... so that had been hit and repaired on the cheap, then.
