Supra Twin Turbo or R32 Skyline GT-R

Pah. I was quoted £2500 for a Golf GTi with alloy wheels. Did have my girlfriend on the quote though.

If I'd put my g/f it would have knoced a bit off probably, but couldnt be arsed to type it all in!! Actually that was for a 1994 model, which I think is R33?

For me - 1997 R33 GTR V-Spec, (specifying Tracker fitted, which is pretty logical I think), fully comp. £877. No difference between that and the normal GT-R actually.

If I want a 2002 GT-R (only variant listed) it goes up to £907

The R32? £750.

If I get an RX8, it will cost me £400 (actually, probably a bit less - these quotes are from Privilege who are usually a little more than Direct Line for me).

I bought the GTR because it goes faster around corners. In retrospect I would of bought the Supra because it is equally as fast, less complicated and nice and comfy to cruise in.

You'll go much more sideways in a Supra. A GTR sticks to the road like s*it to a blanket.

Stepping away from the world of "car peeps," if you ask somebody what a Supra is they'll likely tell you it's a chest-wig sports car. If you ask them what a Skyline is they might refer you to a loft conversion.

Tricky - you can get a UK model Supra (which is the twin turbo, IIRC), but any Skyline of that age will be an import. Both should be reasonably reliable, but there'll be some dogs of either around...

Skyline has more electrickery, which is good, but given it'll be 12 years old, it could be a big PITA.

Oh, and apparently there is only one respected garage for Skylines (according to exchange and mart) in the country.

Yea, that's what I thought you were getting at but the Skyline is not exactly a well kept secret. I'd hazard a guess that the people who don't know what a Skyline is probably wouldn't actually know what a Supra is either :)
