I think you can put a B230E in. Putting a K cam in wouldnt be a problem though.

The engine from the 480 probly goes in and chips up nicely :) ?

The 480T engine goes in far easier if you start with a 340 1.7 as this will have the correct mountings and the kit to send the power to the rear wheels

In fact there was one set up just like this at the RetroCar Show this year, completed some surprising times on the Santapod strip, the guy left it totally 'base model' from the outside apart from 360GLT alloys on the rear wheels

I did have that thought, but as Ken says its easier to use the already Renualt engined 340. Unfortunately you then lose the torque tube round the prop which isnt a good move when you're shoving an extra 50bhp? through the drive train! Besides Volvo engines are more reliable!
