those injectory things

Its not logical that all injectors can fail at once. one fails and it losses a cylinder. 2 fails (unlikely) it still runs with an even regular misfire if

3 fail (statistically about as likely as winning the lottery) then it would still at least start and run slowly! .

well after some more head scratching my oily little fingers are now being pointed at the injection system on the 205

i have fuel up to the injector rail and a nice spark so common sense dictates the injectors are not injecting,

but i'll be buggered if i can find any fuses etc for the injection system on the thing.(methinks a thorough search on some 205 forums might be in order tommorow.

BUT in the mean time, short of pulling the injectors off whats the best way to check the injectors without a multimeter?

aaah my thinking is John its some sort of electrical problem on the FI side of things. how shocking a electrics concern on a 205 :)

any tips on testing the electrical side of the FI

Christ, the money you have wasted on that shed! You could have saved it and bought a decent car. Didn't you have anyone to take to check it for you before buying it? You obviously haven't a clue what to look for when buying a car - checking it runs is quite important and most obvious! Get the AA or RAC next time.

money spent

well lets see

150 notes to buy it 40 quid on service parts 40 quid for the mot (passed btw) 35 on a dizzy and 20 odd on a coil 4.82 on a new back window hardly a kings ransom for a iconic 80's hot-hatch in good nick

maybe have to spend a few more pennies on it but so what

at least its owned wholly by myself and theres no monthly payments to make :) get it up you, you ring piece I dont smoke i dont drink i dont go out much. a set of 45's and a few bits n bobs are hardly serious expenditure. circa

250 or so if i shop around allow another 60 for setting up on the rollers and for 600 quid i've got a true 160-170 horses in a car that weighs faff all. lets see you get a comparable performance car with a years ticket and some tax for less than that?

You might have a nice spark but is it sparking at the right time? Do you have fuel pressure in the rail?

Rob, is this because you don't have a multimeter? Get thee to Maplin's, they're only a few quid. There might even be one here that you can borrow.

Bet it is a death trap that has obviously been messed with by a non experienced mechanic too.

Save cash, get more power, make it run smoother, easier to set up and more reliable. Get some bike carbs and fab a manifold to suit :)

Or easier still, get Bogg Bros to make a manifold, supply carbs and set it up on their RR :)

Whenever I get a French car that doesn't run right, especially reliably, I look for the crank position sensor, swear at it a lot, then replace it.

Nah a nice and simple 309 gti would do as you can only get the 16v as an import. I feel in love when I drove a mates gri and managed to drift it round a roundabout. Imho they're better than a 205 as they don't snap ends as quickly. Its just a shame they're french.
