I'd rather have this one

Yup, so would I, so would Vamp.

He can afford to buy and insure

though. :)

Had my last ever exam yesterday - finished Uni now - a bit hammered :-)

Just thought it was important I shared that.

Lucky sod, our exams don't start till towards the end of the month, then it's all mathematics. Still doesn't stop me getting hammered at the moment. I'm having more fun on my 2nd run through uni..

Congratulations dude. But bad luck - you're now in the real world :)

Doctorate/Masters? Or just got disillusioned the first time and started again somewhere else?

Congrats. Now it is time to face the reality that Graduate Salary, and Minimum wage are closer than you think. Especially up north.

Oh and set ammounts of holidays, when it is convenient and fits with the rest of your department/company too.

maybe that is how you should choose your next car. Ebay the motors section for your year of birth.

Unless he starts his own business like I did. I get 2 days at Christmas and

4 at Easter. And I only have to work half days. And the best thing is that I get to decide which 12 hours that is. : )

Common as muck here.

the VW crew cab is well good! you're getting old though ;)

No "Getting" about it.

Not fancy the B10 3.5?

M30 big six has steel liners, and in this case 260bhp - no Nikasil, no cambelts and much grunt. E34 is a strong car and lasts well...

156mph and 0-60 in 6.6 ain't to shabby and apart from the tyres the service parts are all BMW so not too scary 'spensive from the usual suspects.

It'll stay with ///M5s for a fraction of the cost. :)

Well I started on =A318k and I'm oop north. And it's gone up more than

25% in under 3 years. SWMBO has managed a 57% rise in pay in a slightly shorter amount of time. Mind you she did start on a crappy =A314k which isn't that much more than minimum wage, and was significantly less than minimum wage once you take into account the amount of unpaid overtime she put in as well...

That bit sucks several yards of festering, cheesy dick. Last year I went nearly 10 days over my allowance before they noticed HA HA!

But on the whole, working life is so overrated and it's pretty rubbish, especially if you get wrapped up in all the consumerism (I've no idea how I'd afford to do all that unnecessary shopping TBH). That's why I'm going RTW and when I come back I'm not going to continue my career as I started it. Life's going to be a whole lot simpler, with more time and space for tinkering with cars...

Remember that you pay your boss's salary (he/she creams off whatever the company makes that they don't pay you) remember that you are the one who decides whether you starve or not, not your boss. Never be afraid of getting fired. Never be afraid of being skint (you might need to experience being skint to realise it isn't scary but otherwise, take my word for it, I've been there). But at the same time, be bloody good at your job and take pride in what you do, and do it, as much as is possible, for personal satisfaction.
