Whoohoo, hot interior blower output.

Ahhhh...

You need to weigh up the 'tube ticket cost / walk vs having a seat all the way back' pros and cons then I suppose. :-)

Aye... but I'm a good boy. ;-)

Aye.

I'd end up sans licence / sanity if I relied on that route everyday.

Aye... not so bad when you're leaving that bit later though.

I've now discovered that if you drop down that bit lower when you get south of the river from Waterloo Bridge, there's a pretty clear / quick back route that skirts you in parallel with Jamaica Street etc. until it meets up with it near Rotherhithe.

For one thing, the lights don't seem to be so deliberately laggy, so you maintain more progress.

Generally they buy them new then run them into the ground. I have a client that ran a 15 year old Merc even though she was wearing a diamond on her finger that would buy a nice apartment. One day she turned up in a brand new one. She planned on running the new one until it died as well.

Obviously wasn't very well maintained if it died at 15 years old..... :-)

Be honest Pete, you do look more than a hint of Nigerian.

Out of interest, is the replacement gearbox another one that's only designed to handle 200bhp, or is it a better one designed for more (or modified in some way to take more)?

If not, I guess you're just banking on it putting up with the extra power for a reasonable time just like the last one did?

And there's always Oyster, just for central London use, for cutting a seemingly ever-decreasing amount off tube fares.

Bikes rock. I've bought 2 this year and I'm currently eyeing off another one. And because they are so comedy cheap to buy/insure/run you just keep the old ones. So you never miss them.

You poor English buggers. Perth is pretty much made for bikes. I bought a decent set of wet weather gear (waterproof boots, waterproof gloves and an oversuit). In the worst of pouring rain I arrive at my destination bone dry. We are lucky we don't get ice here at all. The key with bikes is buying good gear and wearing it. I won't get on a bike without a decent fullface helmet, gloves and an armoured jacket as a minimum.

Bikes are stupidly cheap to buy and run. Buy a Honda and it will last forever and ride like a new one. And start every turn of the key.

Wow!!!!! I thought my CBR1100XX was long in the tooth with 110,000 ks on it. Gotta give it to Honda.

It amazes me that you guys live in such a tiny country yet do such high miles. I live in a massive state and only do about 15k miles a year.

She traded it for bugger all. Was pretty stuffed at that point though. Her new one has been back to the dealers at least 6 times for major faults. She said she would never buy another Merc.

Get an Aprillia RSV Mille-R.

Been thinking about a bit of Italian goodness. But I'm all about the jap stuff. And a black K7 GSX-R 1000 is just what the doctor ordered.

Indeed... well it's on 128k now, and that equates to 206k kilometers. :-)

The rear shock feels a bit bouncy, but other than that it seems pretty good - wheelies off the power better than the one I had last year which had done about 35k miles. :-)
