Oh, what's the betting on it's final selling price?
I'll go £10k.

For 4wd turbo stuff of that vintage you would be MUCH better off with a GTR Skyline.

Noooo!
There's just no comparison between some Jap techno-toy and the engineering purity of a proper Quattro.
And that's before you take into account the engine sound.

FSVO "Much better off". The quattro has a huge amount of street-cred, being the car which made 4wd big in rallying. It's a proper classic, unlike a skyline.
cheers, clive
If you are serious a mate of mine has a late 10v in need of some TLC in his garden, been there for a while but it's all galvanised so should be okay (no external signs of anything nasty), he also has a brand new 20v engine still on it's pallet and a RS4 turbo charger to go on it.
Good lord no, a quattro or a Integrale is what sir requires.

Not if you're European :P
=A37k, but it won't have met reserve.

Ah, but the Skyline was banned for being too good (like the Cosworth Saph I think in britain) from Jap Touring Cars.
Sapphire was never banned for being 'too good'. The original be-winged Cosworth prompted a change in rules because Ford were the only manufacturer making a RWD 2lt Turbo at the time - and the equivalency factor for non-turbo cars was way out - it was competing against the E30 M3 with 2.5 litres. All other manufacturers stayed away from BTCC's flagship class at the time.
The rule change to 2lt non-turbo was to encourage more manufacturers to compete, as almost everyone had a 2lt non-turbo family sized saloon / hatch they could use.
damn that would look sweet parked next to my a4 :)
Ah right, I thought it was the Saph, not the Sierra.
Except the jap stuff is faster and I dare say more reliable. You can still get parts for it too. And I am guessing you have never heard an RB26DETT at full noise.

Much easier to live with day to day. When I had my GTR a mate had a Quattro. Guess which one was much faster and spent less time in the garage and had repair bills that had to be sent off to NASA to calculate.

I'd much rather have

than either a quattro or Skyline.
Skylines do go well, but they just lack that certain something that for some reason virtually all Jap cars lack, they just don't interest me much. I like the old Legacy Turbo estates, I'm quite fond of Imprezas and the NSX, and I love MX5s, but Skylines leave me wanting more.
I was driving a Skyline GT (the 2.5 single turbo thing) earlier this week and it was ok, sounded nice and drove well enough, but didn't feel magical the way a well sorted Integrale does.
Admittedly it was about 90% more likely to make it to my chosen destination than Integrales tend to be.

Godamnit, another great car a few miles from me that I cant afford. Stop posting these links, your depressing me!!!!!!!!!!!
That one's not all that nice, IMHO. Not a great colour and scruffy.
Non-Evo spec. cars can be seriously cheap these days:
I probably wouldn't, 'cos they can be bloody expensive if things go pear-shaped.
I'm guessing you haven't heard an audi 5 pot turbo howling?
