'03

After months of waffling on how I would fix up the 69 Mach I, I foolishly test drove an '03 Cobra last week. So after talking about it continuously, I just went and got it yesterday. It ROCKS! The '69 would never drive like that! It doesn;t look as distinctive as the '69, but wow!

If you've got the money lying around (which I didn't), I highly suggest getting one. If you can't afford it, do your self a favor and don't drive one :)

Ok waitafreakingminute!! The "Dark Side" is reserved for those sick and twisted enough to own a Turbo Regal, more specifically a Grand National. It's is only THEN that a young Jedi will know the REAL "Dark Side."

:-)

However...congrats on owning the baaadest thing to come from Detroit in years! I'm envious!

Mike,

Congrats! I just recently purchased an '03 Sonic Blue, but have to wait for it to get here. :(

I'm already writing up a list of mods to throw onto it over the next couple years. Especially after the montly payment shock goes away. ;)

I'm still working on the payment shock (haven't made the first one yet).

But it doesn't need a ton of mods to outpace my driving skill at this point. A shifter might be nice - but I haven't driven a car with any of the aftermarket shifters, so I don't know.

People talk about pulley's and chips and all of that, but right now the car is still scary fast to me and get bad enough gas mileage.

Like I said, if you can't afford it, don't drive it. I can *barely* afford it, but couldn't stop from buying it.

Thanks,

Mike

I'm not sure if the '03s have shifters with positive stops on them from the factory or not. If not, I would run, not walk to the phone and order a Pro 5.0 for a T56 ASAFP. Your transmission will be happier.

Damn man, thanks for the warning. I was going to go to the Ford dealership tomorrow and test a cobra and mach 1.... I know I can't afford the Cobra (the dealership said they have a 5k markup from sticker) so guess I'll just do the mach 1 (finally rid of the gt - woohoo)
