'67 Engine bay dimensions

Dec 05, 2003 5 Replies

Hey Guys and Gals

Ok, so my Stang's been cut up and "repaired" several times apparently and now I'm ready to restore her correctly, I'm coming across more and more problems as I go on.... I've hoisted out the engine and tranny and have started taking measurements of the engine bay to see what other godawful things have been done to her in the past....

What I'm after are drawings of the engine bay (empty) with dimensions between shock towers, firewall/hood lip and the radiator panel and between the front frame rails. Mine are all over the shop! I've got nearly 1/2" difference between the left and right sides of the engine bay form rad. support to firewall hood lip!

Any ideas where I can get this info? Are there any fellow Stangers out there with a 67 convertible willing to spend 15 minutes taking measurements off their cars?

I need left and right side (along the length of the inner fenders) and centre line measurements between hood lip at firewall and the uppermost rearward part of the radiator support, inner fender to inner fender @ 2" from firewall and along the uppermost part of the rad. support, and between the centers of the bolts innermost holding the shock tower caps in place.

Thanks in advance to anyone that can help - I'm starting to tear my hair out!

Kevin

measurements

PLUS DIMENSIONS BETWEEN FRAME RAILS AT REARWARD AREA OF ENGINE BAY AND JUST BEHIND THE RAD. SUPPORT ( SHOULD BE THE SAME - I HAVE 70CM (27.56") - THANX

IIRC the shop manual has the frame point measurements in the body section of the book. It may be worthwhile to get a '67 shop manual (for a variety of reasons!) StuK

Thanks Stu - BTW, I've sent you the dimensions i've taken wrt yours, and they're similar but not quite there... (Good to see you're still on the NG tho'!) Kevin

of the book. It

I have one lot of dimensions...If anyone want's to give me more of the same, it can only help. I'm all for asking the question twice, but doing the work once (and preferably correctly). If you have these dimensions, I'd be more than happy to have them from you. Thanks in advance, if you can help.
