OK guys, I need some help here. My build date on my '66 bucktag says 226. Now I've been assuming that it meant to say 22G, but it's recently come to my attention that this may not be a correct assumption and it's messing with the possibility that my HCS may be a dealer clone. The reason this is so important is that the cars arrived in Denver on the 18th of July, my build date was (assuming the 22G is correct) was the 22nd and the cars weren't released to the public until the 23rd. I know there could be a 2 week gap on either side of that buck tag as to when the car was actually built, but it would make more sense that is would be later as opposed to earlier based o the fact that nobody in the Denver DSO knew what the color looked like until they arrived, which wasn't until the 18th. Unless some paint chips or something like that had been sent out for promotional items. What I need to do is compare my VIN consecutive # with other '66 Dearborn #'s and build dates to see when my car was possibly built to make sure that the assumed "G" is correct or not. Can you guys with Dearborn built '66's help? I'm trying to find out whether my HCS is a factory HCS or a dealer special ordered HCS. I'm still trying to figure out the circumstances for why this car was built the way it was and why it would have come from Dearborn instead of San Jose.
