Cobra

Oh, interesting. I won't hate you. Some rice is nice. ;-)

That's where I'd be putting my Cobra, if I were you.

Must be nice to have the parts, time and space to build a car up.

I can see that if there's too much going on, one might lose sight of the task at hand.

351W

You need a hired hand...or a really *needy* person to give all those parts to. ;-)

, sounds great,

Certainly does!

I never know which one to drive,

A Probe? LOL! That's it! The day I get my bum handed to me by a Probe is the day I...well...buy an '03 Cobra! ;-)

Maybe when I get myself that '98 Cobra. ;-)

Heh, that'll never happen.

I did that at

I think I'll have to stick to buying one instead. LOL!

LOL!

I never would have dreamt this was possible a decade ago. ;-)

Show off. ;-)

Cool. :-)

Oh, I don't think anyone is thinking that nor do I care. It's embarrassing 'cause it demonstrates the poor build quality of Mustangs. ;-)

See that's what I want. :-( I just don't FEEL the bass in my entire body. My friend has one 10" in her van and you can really FEEL the bass.

LOL!

:-)

That'd be so much fun! That's a job I wouldn't mind getting up in the morning for. :-)

bass/treble

I'd need a very large manual to understand how to do all that. ;-)

Have fun. ;-)

When I met my husband, we lived over 6,000 miles from each other, and travelled back and forth between his native Sweden and my home in California several times a year and were only able to see each other for a month at a time. It sucked. Bad! I know how you feel.

I talk to her for probably 10

Hang in there. You'll make it. :-)

LOL!! That's exactly what I do. :-)

The first time I ever talked to my

Yes it is. I'm chatting with my friend right now, and she's not too swift in written communication. I can't help it. I always correct her. It must suck to have me as a friend. ;-)

Seems as soon as you wake up, it's time to sleep again. :-}

LOL!

I'm glad you won't hate me. ;-) Of course, if I get a new Cobra, I won't be able to afford a nicer beater...

Decisions, decisions.

It's probably worse than parking it on the street, between the dampness of the dirt floor, the cats/bugs/creatures that live there, and the dirt....

The parts are there, the space is there, but the time is missing.... that's for sure.

Tasks.... there are probably four or five projects that are slated to happen some day.. it's usually urgency (as in, someone needs a car *now*) that brings it to light and gets us started on it.

Lol... yeah... a hired hand would be nice, but that costs... and we're cheap.. that's why we work on the things ourselves.

Well, the Cobra smokes it in the straights, but there's less jumping around in a corner that has bumps in it. The Probe has a full-length subframe and, I believe, IRS... so it has a few advantages. The Cobra twists up like a pretzel. The Probe isn't a slouch in the straights either, and that lil turbo-4 will pull redline in 5th gear bone stock with 118,000 miles on it (which puts it up around 130)

Heh... well, I'll sell ya mine for $17k, and I can go get an '03. Fair enough?

It's really easy, actually.... especially with the peripherals that are out now.

If you wish. I'm looking for someone around here with enough money to let me play. It would require some programming though, something I don't have much time to do at the moment. *sigh*

Technology is an amazing thing, huh? Grows faster than you can keep up with it it seems.

Sometimes. Is there a problem with that? :-P

Sounds good. I hope I still have the '97 by then. I'm trying to convince myself so badly that a new snake is not a good, nor feasible idea. I just know that with 390hp under my right foot... it can't be that bad of an idea. In any event, I'll let you take it for a ride if you're ever out this way.

I didn't buy mine for the build quality... dunno about you. :-) I bought mine for the relatively low cost V8 5-speed RWD option. Especially the Foxes I've bought.

Sounds like something's weird there.... what amp do you have driving your subs?

I looked at that girl weird... but, eh, to each their own I suppose.

I don't mind getting up in the morning for my current job. I have a great boss ("Why are you still here? Go home. It's nice out"), and the job isn't so bad. I'm the master of my own domain at the moment... I'm the lead technician in a repair shop that, A) is like the Maytag repair building... quite empty and boring, and B) I'm the only technician in. So.. I report to my boss, but I rarely see him, and when I do see him, we BS about cars and occasionally sprinkle in some business. He takes us out to eat... fought HR so that they didn't install a time clock just for me (so if I'm a minute late they don't complain)... he's a great guy. He has a new Z-06 Vette and a '78 Vette... but likes my Cobra as well. Just doesn't want one. ;-)

The performance shop thing is a dream... but I have a tendency to chase my dreams...

Heh... yeah, right now things are so hectic, it's not a priority. It comes and goes... in a couple weeks I'll get fed up with looking at car system stuff that's in a room.

Yeah... that definately sucks. She's only a half hour or so away... but I'm battling other issues. She's a great girl, smart, funny, and most definately likes me. She was also pretty sheltered most of her life, never was allowed out much on her own, and was always told what to do by her mom. She's a knockout and likes to show it off, but she's extremely self conscious and almost ashamed of her body... two things that seem to clash. Now she's out on her own, meeting a ton of people, doing whatever she wants. She's young though... 18 (to my 25), prone to partying, and it's hard to say what could happen. Me, I'm pretty much settled down, never have been much of a partier (have been known to leave my own parties because there were just too many loud, drunk people around), and jut generally laid back. I don't drink much at all, and seldom. I don't smoke, I don't do drugs. The only things I do are play my music a lil too loud and drive a lil too fast. She feels if she commits to me she'll miss out on the world, and if she decides not to, she'll miss out on me.. so.. it could go either way.

I just take it a day at a time and hope for the best... and not get jealous when she talks about this guy and that guy... it is college and she will meet guys there.

*sigh*

Anyways... sorry 'bout that. :-) Kind of my favorite subject.

conversations.

Thanks.... she's supposed to come up this weekend actually... I'm looking forward to it.

heh... but it's fun, isn't it?

Why? Think of it as you're teaching someone... they just don't wanna learn. :-)

Seems like that'd make a better friend to me. I'd rather have someone tell me when I'm doing something wrong.

Yesterday especially. Slept from 6:30PM to 10:30PM, then from 2:30AM to

6:30AM. I'm weird.

And I didn't. Today I have the bike out, and I need to get a few things for when my girl comes back up this way... so I'll be busy... *sigh*

lol... go figure. Priorities... priorities...

Mort,

If I were you, and I were happy with the Cobra now at 60k, I'd just keep it. If you're not craving more power, IRS, etc... if you don't drive it all that far or even often... why go with another payment if you're already content with what you have? The DOHC should last quite a long time, and it sounds like you maintain your vehicles fairly well.

As far as spoilers go...

I like the spoiler on my '97 snake. I personally don't think those cars look right without something on the decklid. I've seen a couple without spoilers that I kinda liked, but for the most part, I like them with a

*small* factory-sized spoiler. I don't think we'll ever look back on them as we do vinyl roofs now though. Spoilers were around before the vinyl roof phase, and a lot of spoilers back then were huge... Chrysler products, anyone? What were they... Super Bee, Daytona, Road Runner... some of those cars came with just massive wings on the back. They've toned it down a lot, but I don't think they're ready to give them up yet.

Man if you're happy with your Cobra I'd keep it too like JS said. It sounds very nice except for the front bumper so I'd keep it if I were you. Seriously. I want to too really bad, but it seems like you'd be more disappointed then happy.
