debris in the flywheel? - 95 V6 3.8L automatic ford mustang

Car: 1995 Mustang V6 3.8L

My starter went the other day so i picked up a new one and installed it. Now after the installation when my car is on (not while its cranking, it cranks over and starts just fine) and under load the engine makes a very high pitch churping sound. It almost sounds like your turning metal on a metal lathe. Any ideas on this and how to fix it? Could it be debris that fell out of the old starter into the flywheel?

thanks,

Jon
