Door hinge cracked

My driver's side door recently started popping when I open it. Looked at it today in the light, and it looks like the hinge is cracked.

Can I just replace the hinge? Is it expensive? Is it difficult or should I seek help? ;-)

Thanks!

Been reading up on this, and it looks like replacing the hinge isn't the problem, but aligning the door properly is.

Maybe a body shop would be my best bet? Does this take long?

Thanks again!

Cindy ,

any luck with the Check engine light? Mine just started lighting up and the code was the same as yours P1443'. If you cured it clue me in.

LoL! Welcome to the club.

I've ordered a vapor canister purge valve, should be here tomorrow. I'll let you know if that fixes it. I sure hope it does, 'cause I need to get this turkey smogged.

Hey Cindy, check this: On the door hinge, there is a rubber roller. Sometimes they get a flat spot, and get stuck in position. open the door, then release the pressure on the rubber roller enough that you can turn it a bit with your fingers from it's position. Turn the assumed flat spot to opposite side. If it has a flat spot, it can cause the noise you are talking about. This may be a quick fix. Oil your hinges.

Thanks, Kate, I already discovered that, though. Turned it, and yes it did stop the loud pop when I opened the door, and instead popped when I closed it. LOL! Also, I discovered the roller eventually makes its way back to the same spot.

Don't make no difference anyhow, 'cause Tim sent a new hinge to me yesterday. Should have it tomorrow.

Oh...shuv it! My only tough decision is at this point is which color I want most. ;-)

I've postponed my search for that Cobra. We're leaving for Sweden on Saturday for one month, so I ran out of time to sell my car. Guess that's good 'cause now I had time to fix a few things before selling it. Hubby tells me we may not need to sell it after our trip, so I might get to keep my GT AND get a Cobra! ;-)

Nope, haven't received that part yet. Was supposed to be here yesterday! I'm hoping it gets here before Thursday. :-( When it does and I put it on, I'll let you know.

Btw, never order from
