I seem to remember you saying that your Pony was clocking 100K+ Miles. Provided you stayed on maintainance schedule you may want to consider some inexpensive PM. Provided the water pump has'nt let go you may want to do a pressure check and a complete flush and replace with a good anti freeze with lubricant for the pump bearings. Do a compression check to see if your head gasket is still good. (Un-explained overheating is usually a sign that the gasket may be failing)

I flush & refill yearly. I am going to order a compression test tool from Summit soon... unless I can just go to O'Reilly & get a trustworthy one for a decent price & do a compression test. I've been using Mobil 1 full synth. for the past 5-6 oil changes now.. I don't think anything major is wrong, but I'm definitely wary of it.
