I had to disagree with him sometimes. And sometimes he was full of s*it. Like when he told me you can lock your '65-'66 without using the key. LOL

What, you can't?

On those cars you can't push the lock knob down (or turn the key) when the doors are open...so to lock it you either need the key (from the outside, door closed) or be inside. (power door locks or rolled down windows/tops excluded)
It does help in not locking your keys in the car....unless they fall out of your shirt pocket into the trunk JUST before you slam it shut!!

Actually, I once forgot my keys on top of the taillight lens, and slammed the hatch. Couldn't get to them from the inside, and the ring was too big to yank out from the outside.
A spare key is a good thing to have, and fortunately I A) was at home and B) hadn't locked the front door yet.
Come to think of it, the only times I've ever locked my keys in the car have been at home.
You can't even do it if you hold the handle up while you close the door?
