1996 200sx screaching sound?

I have an automatic 96 nissan 200sx and whenever i'm driving I hear a loud screaching sound. I took it to the mechanic thinking it was the breaks but he said i still have over 60% left on them but i have a broken cv boot? The screaching stops when applying the break, could the cv boot be the problem and how?

CV joint boots don't make a noise. They just make your CV joints fail slowly. Failing joints might clunk or rattle, but not squeak.

Does it screech when you have the throttle stuck, but the brakes off? If so, could you have a stuck caliper?

(ps... brakes screech.. not breaks screach...)

So? I've seen almost new brake pads squeel.

Indeed. Brake squeal can be caused by quite a number of things (see

for example) and it has verylittle to do with pad thickness.

its the turbo gasket. they blow all the time, that or the exhaust gasket. screeching sound, worst at 4,500rpm, mainly under heavy load, can make it sound flappy/airy if you are surrounded by buildings while accelerating hard too.
