I have a 96 Hardbody XE 4x4 that I bought in 2000 with 21000 miles on it (low). I had a lot of problems with the check engine light, replacing just about every sensor there was, most of which were recalled. The driver side door doesn't unlock with a key anymore. The belts were ready to break off at 40000 miles and were replaced. The exhaust rusted through, and was replaced two years ago. I replaced the plugs, wires and distributor cap. The brakes were just replaced (normal), and the rust on the frame and other parts was even noticed by the guy who did the brakes. I have a broken leaf spring, and the check engine light is on permanantly. This truck now has
57000 miles on it, and it has given me more problems than any other vehicle I have owned, with more to come by the looks of the rust on the underbody (the body looks great, incidentally). I am thinking of getting rid of this truck and getting a frontier, also 4cyl, XE 4x4, but I am now leery of Nissan trucks. Any suggestions? Thanks, Fergie
