My 93 pathfinder has a plastic chrome colored trim that fits in a slot in the windshield rubber. It has shrunk and now is falling off. Can I buy something like this somewhere or would I have to replace the rubber? I doubt the windshield would come out without breaking, so I am hoping to find something. Can anyone suggest a source. The dealer was no help.

What do you mean the dealer was no help? I'm sure they can get this trim.
They said that I would have to buy a new windshield rubber. I guess I could cut the old rubber to save the glass.

If it's a "old school" rubber gasket type, that's exactly how you do it. I'd be amazed though if a 10+ year old windshield would be nice enough to be worth reusing if you were going to go to that much trouble. It does seem odd that you have to buy the whole gasket to get this trim, although it might be such a nightmare to install into the gasket they know it's not worth the trouble.
