Has anyone applied (or had applied) this TSB? What is the cost?

My letter indicated that there is no cost to the consumer as long as you live in the affected area.

That area is NY, NJ, Eastern PA, CT, MA and RI.

Thanks for the info. I'm in Alabama, and the dealer said it could cost $225 to install. I haven't heard of any problems around here.

I received a notice in the mail the other day for the fix. I'll make the appointment because I've seen a few Maximas driving around with gaping holes where their headlights used to be. Does anyone know exactly what the fix does. According to the notice it makes it harder for someone to remove the headlight. How is that done?

Regards,

Richard Huelbig

Had mine done yesterday (2003) Maxima. Dealer engraves your Vin # on the headlight pods, places decals on both front side windows (first time I put the window down, their gone)!

I couldn't get near the car when they were doing the work and looking under the hood I couldn't detect any difference. The Xenon bulbs themselves are $200.00 apiece and the whole headlight pod assy is $700.00! I have a $500,00 deductable on my insurance like most people here in Mass.

The dealer said he has never seen the bulbs burn out by themselves.

They also replace the brackets and, I believe, move the ballast a few inches lower.
