2004 Maxima Auto Climate Control

Nov 11, 2003 3 Replies

I'm considering buying a 2004 Maxima SL. Can anyone with one give me some insites into the auto climate control. How does it work? Are you satisfied with it? Can it be used manually instead of automatically?

The dealer tells me that I can operate the fan and mode independently. This doesn't make sense to me. How can it maintain a given temperature if it doesn't control the fan at least. Currently have a 2001 Avalon and once you set the temperature the system contols the fan and mode.

Thanks for the input.

I have it on my 98se and I love it. Yes you can control the fan speeds in manual mode. Also you can put it in Econo mode so you just have fan and no A/C.

Once you change the fan settings, the climate control will no longer be in 'auto' mode and regulate the temperature. It will simply store the temperature setting and resume auto control when you hit the auto button again. The only thing I don't like is that I can't specify when the AC compressor is running. Maybe the 04's are different.
