hi

recently looking at buttom of the car , there seem to be a puddle of oil coming directly under the PS pump.

I check the puddle of oil , it seems not be PS oil. since mine is Red and doesnt seem to loose any on the reserve .

its kinda light brownish on color

doesnt smell like motor oil. or maybe im not used to motoroil smell , hehe

any other place i need to check??

btw i just check the oil pan and theres no oil there?? assuming that it was leaking from the sides of the gaskets, shouldnt it drip to the buttom and sides also?

however i can see some on the PS pump? where is it coming from?

really bugging me. seeing that puddle of oil .

I just got rid of a similar problem. The culprit was the rocker (valve) cover gasket of the right hand side of the engine (the one closest to the firewall).

To replace this gasket you will need to remove the intake plenum. It is a big disassembly but it is not too complicated. The plenum to intake manifold gasket will need to be replaced too. Parts to replace both covers' gaskets should not be more than 30 bucks.

Good luck.

rocker cover gasket? is it the valve cover gasket? or another type of gasket

where do i find this parts online ? besides the dealer?

hi there

thanks

so it was my OIL!! awwww

are u talking about the Valve Cover gasket? or is it another Gasket (rocker cover?)

where can i get this parts? online ,besides the dealer...

dumb question....anything serious if i dont change them? hehe ( Balancing my Funds)

I forgot to ask, is your car an SE or GXE?

In my SE i found one of the spark plug wells full of oil leaking from the rocker (valve) cover gasket. Nissan calls the valve covers, rocker covers.

If yours is a GXE then the seal replacement seems to be easier.

I use 1stnissanparts.com in Washington state (and i am in FL). I deal with Chris. He is great and their prices are good, very good.

If you do not change the seals in a GXE i do not see a problem, just a messy engine. In an SE, the oil in the spark plug well was not good.

Good luck

hi

unsure if its an SE i have Fog lights , white Guages only

no spoiler , no leather , no sunroof, doesnt seem to have BOSE stereo or speakers (says Active Speakers on the Rear)

as for the spark plug, ill check tom...doesnt seem to have any oil, last time i change my plugs.. VG30E SOHC engine.

any rate , i think , im getting a repair manual and just do it , sometime soon, to save me some money (400-300$ quoted by dealer and a local shop)
