95 nissan maxima stereo issues

I put a cd in the cd player (Bose AM/FM, CD, Cassete Stereo) and it did play then when switched to the radio and back, the CD would not play, or eject and the display would stay blank.

I thought perhaps it was just because it was hella cold, now... two months later, even on 60 degree days still nothing.

I have tried patiently waiting, taking out two fuses (one said Bose the other said something like stereo), slapping the hell of the dash board, and sweet talking while petting the sterring wheel.

If anyone has any thoughts or ideas on how to remedy this that would be fabulous as I am dearly tired of listening to the radio, expessially since here in Chicago the Spanish channels are starting to be the best and I don't under stand a word of it.

this is typical bose stereo problem. there was a write up somewhere on maxima.org. with pics that show you how to fix it. you need to resolder some connections. in my opinion, by yourself a pioneer and the adapter to run the speaker amps. I did this to one of my cars and it sounds great. all for $200.

hey

i just finished fixing my bose stereo it took me 6 hours but now its working. i took it out, cleaned it a little bit and its fine now. the hardest part was taking it out. if you want some tips, let me know.

Right. Sometimes the laser source gets dusty, and that causes a no-play situation. Have had this happen in home stereo too, and all that was needed was some careful cleaning inside. Once you got the radio out, how did you access the inside? Did you have to open up the unit? TIA. Bob
