Bose Car Stereo Problem

I'm wondering if any one is having the same problem I'm having with my Bose car stereo in my 2003 Nissan Maxima. The sound gets cut off the left side speakers when I play CDs. So, I hear the music only from the right side! This does not happen when I listen to the radio or a tape. It happens only with the CD player and the problem is intermittent. I replaced the stereo (through the warranty) multiple times but the problem keeps coming back. It seems it's a flaw in the CD player design. I don't know who exactly the CD player manufacturer but it's not Bose. However, Bose is liable for any problem in the whole system.

A friend of mine has an Infiniti G35 and experienced the same problem till the dealer replaced the stereo with a fixed unit.

Some one already submitted a complaint to the Office of Defects Investigation

I think the CD player was made by Clarion.

So this Maxima is now out of warranty? If so, do yourself a favor and go aftermarket. You'll need an adapter b/c it's Bose (Scosche makes one). Goto crutchfield.com and configure your car, it will give you an idea of what you need. I'm unsure if best buy or one of those has this equipment on hand in their install bays (if you don't want to go the DIY route). They can probably install it if you bring it in there.

All Bose systems are manufactured by Clarion I had the same problem with my 01 MAX. After careful troubleshooting , I realised a harness in the trunk that goes from the amplifier to the left speaker was faulty. I replaced it (for free) with another one from the junk yard and VOILA Before I nailed the problem, I blamed the head unit, the amp, the speakers and even the gods. Good luck!
