Computer problems with 2004 Maxima

Help,

A friend of mine purchased a new 2004 Maxima about one month ago. Upon receipt, the memory switch for the driver seat did not work properly. After turning the ignition off, the memory reverted to a factory setting. Dealer diagnosed it as a computer problem. Dealer replaced computer, problem wasn't fixed and additional problems occurred, (sunroof worked erratically, other electronically controlled settings stopped working). He brought it back to the dealer who kept it for two days and returned it to him after "rebooting" the computer. Still has problem.

Car has been to dealer often enough to now be considered a lemon under our state laws. My friend is now concerned this may be a 2004 model problem rather than a problem isolated to his vehicle; therefore, he can't decide if we wants to get a replacement Maxima.

Anyone heard of this problem? If so, what did the dealer do to fix it.

Thanks for any input you can give him.

Sadly under the new Nissan ownership/management quality has dropped since the 98/99 Maxs this quest to get the cost down and production up has hurt this car plenty. Your friend should quickly get legal help then get rid of that lemon max. ronm
