Cruise Control problem.

Hi,

Interestingly I just replaced tires on my Nissan Maxima and my cruise control stopped working. Basically, I can arm the cruise control with the little switch on the dash and when I try to set it on the steering wheel, I do not get any response. I already tried replacing the control module on the steering but that didn't fix the problem.

I'll appreciate if you could tell me the fix.

Thanks.

I'd just add that I also had throttle and Fuel injection maintenance done recently as well.

The cruise control usually is a cable connecting the throttle to the control device (in parallel with the normal throttle cable). So yes, servicing/tinkering with the throttle could disable the cruise control. (cable disconnected, clamp off, cable off the curved pulley, etc) which year Max?

This is incorrect, it usually has nothing to do with the cable and "tinkering" with said cable will accomplish nothing other than messing up your vehicle even worse.

Most likely is some sort of an input to the ASCD (automatic speed control device, Nissans name for cruise control) that is not permitting it to be "set". say a brake switch or a clutch pedal position switch or ASCD cancel switch.

Depending on the year it may be a different input such as the speed signal input which is a more serious problem.
