Driver side window squeal

Sep 08, 2004 3 Replies

The driver side window of my 2000 Maxima makes an awful squeal / screech / scream noise in the summer. In the winter I don't notice it. Anyone have any ideas to fix it? Silicone spray, maybe?

Thanks! Kevin

Yep, try some silicone spray on the rubber tracks/weatherstrip the window slides in. Doesn't hurt anything to regularly lubricate all the door rubbers with this stuff either.

Maxima's have an ongoing need for silicone spray, it seems, on the windows after several years. Usually needed when the windows slow down and threaten to stop.

Use "dry" type silicone and spray it into the tracks. Try not to get it on the glass; it'll smear up.
