Max03 SE SRS Light Flashing

I have a 2003 Max SE with the Side air bags and the light on the dash is flashing and not going off all the sudden. Mess with it, not mess with it? If it's something simple I can check I'm all for it, anything to avoid a trip into the shop for a diagnostic even if it does have a warranty to 100K.

Airbags are not to be messed with. If you short some contacts when measuring something, they deploy in your face and could cause undue harm. Go to the dealer and be safe.

But that's why you disconnect the battery whenever working with airbags, that much I DO know!

Ok, now that we have that out of the way, are there any computer codes to look at?

On another note, if the warranty coverage on the SRS stuff is 100,000Km, could poking around with it invalidate the warranty?

I did find some way to generate a diagnostic (turn the ignition on and off 3 times after 7 seconds, etc) but that's only if you're using the OBD hookup which I don't have. No problem. I have an appointment with the dealer at 8:00 am tomorrow (yay Saturday service!). My 2nd Max from them and their service dept is stellar, I'll leave it to them and the warranty.

After looking at everything possible that could go wrong in the collision sensors, air bags, this that and the other, there's no way I want one of those suckers going off on my account (or face!).

I'll mess with a lot of stuff on this car but exploding airbags isn't going on the list.
