what is a sending unit and where is it located in a 91 max, one day my car won't start, took it to a mech, mech says wire in the sending unit is fried thanx

That make no sense whatsoever. What "sending unit" are you talking about? There is at least a dozen sensors on the car. Why didn't you let him fix it?
