106XRD Clutch Arm

Mar 17, 2006 2 Replies

Hi,

The clutch arm on my 106XRD has snapped. The garage has welded it as a temp job but said they can't replace the arm by itself, it will have to be a whole new clutch which will cost in the region of £350. Is there any way around this, e.g. driving with the welded arm? £350 seems a lot especially if it's only the arm that has broken.

Normally these arms break because the clutch assembly is hard to operate, therefore it would be as well to renew the clutch as well as the arm. By the way the arm comes as an assembly with the drop rod that holds the release bearing.

When you say "the garage" have you shopped around? Clutch replacement prices vary wildly from HOW MUCH???? when you go to a main dealer to Hmm? from a small specialist or specialist clutch place.
